'Summer Vacation' teaser: Jin Young and Cho Yi Hyun, a village, a cliff and a teenage miracle

8TaehoAm2026.10.05 19:57👁 1513💬 34♥ 47

The first teaser for "Summer Vacation" is out. Teen romance is not my usual lane, but I watched it twice.

Cho Yi Hyun plays Kim Ha Yeon, an ordinary high school student who is worn out by her family's indifference and feels like an outsider among her classmates. B1A4's Jin Young plays Jo Yu Gyeom, a boy her age and the eldest son of a traditional village family. He looks calm, but he feels trapped by the family's strict rules. She goes along on her father's business trip to a village called Upo, they meet, and she has some kind of mysterious experience that summer before returning to reality. Her line in the teaser: "One way or another, I'm going to change my destiny." It opens with him standing at the edge of a cliff, which tells you it won't be only sweet. Small thing I enjoy: Jin Young has a 10th anniversary special of Love in the Moonlight out right now, and ten years later he's playing a teenager again. And Cho Yi Hyun was great in All of Us Are Dead, so I trust her with the tired girl who wants out. It premieres October 26. Teen romance with a fantasy twist: do you still watch these, or did you age out of them?

Is it real fantasy or just 'feels magical' romance? Can't tell from the teaser

5Mariela2026.10.05

Him at the edge of that cliff already has me worried. Please let this boy be okay

8TaehoOP2026.10.05

The description says she has a mysterious experience and then returns to reality, so I think there's a real fantasy part. How much, we'll see

A cliff in the first second of a teen romance means at least one episode will destroy me. October 26, noted

5Layla2026.10.07

Forty times is rookie numbers. The real fans have seen it in three languages

October 26 is circled. So is the tissue box

6Jiyul2026.10.05

Jin Young writes songs too, right? If he ends up on the OST I'm buying it day one

5retro_ballad2026.10.06

He does write and produce, a lot of B1A4's songs were his. An OST from him would be a dream

Girl goes to a village in summer, meets mysterious boy, destiny changes. I've seen this anime about forty times and I'll watch it again

Forty times and you cried every time, admit it

↳
5Aurelien2026.10.05

That's the risk. The idea is old, so everything depends on the director. Done well it feels new, done lazy it's a long music video

The synopsis says she returns to reality, so it's a real fantasy element. Whether it's a time slip or something else is the interesting part

The cliff shot at the very start... I paused it and had to breathe. Please let him live

The "eldest son of a traditional family" part is very real in Korea. The pressure on 장남 (first son) is a whole drama genre by itself

6pixel_gremlin2026.10.06

Mysterious summer + village + boy with secrets is the visual novel route I always pick first

4Linh2026.10.06

how many episodes is it?

6ice_cold_takes2026.10.06

Aging out of teen romance is a myth. You just start watching them with a blanket instead of friends

5jaywalker2026.10.06

A cliff, a village, a destiny line. Teen dramas really love telling you there's trauma before the first kiss

5Ploy2026.10.06

congrats on the new drama Jin Young!! Oct 26

5lyric.thief2026.10.06

"I'm going to change my destiny" is giving every 2000s ballad bridge and I'm not complaining

7Nari2026.10.06

Village dramas always make me want to take the slow train out of Busan and just disappear for a week

5Tenzin2026.10.06

Vocab: 운명 (unmyeong) = destiny. Her line would be something like 운명을 바꾸겠다. Very drama-coded word

5Noor2026.10.06

I'm 30 and I will still watch every teen fantasy drama that has a summer village in it. No shame

6Jaehee2026.10.06

Cho Yi Hyun playing a girl who's tired of her family is the most relatable plot of the year

6Lukas932026.10.07

Teen romance with fantasy usually goes one of two ways: a cult classic or a forgettable 8 episodes. Teaser alone can't tell

5Valen2026.10.07

the cliff in the first second I'm crying already, I haven't even seen episode 1

5Gyuwon2026.10.07

I aged out of teen romance in 2019. I re-aged in today

5Lucia2026.10.07

ten years after Love in the Moonlight and he's playing a teenager again. I'm crying, how

6Ingrid2026.10.07

A teen romance with a cliff in the opener is a derby with a red card in minute 1. You can't look away

7Dahye2026.10.07

The village shots look so green and quiet. That's the summer I want, minus the cliff

5Ayşe2026.10.07

Watched it twice too. The music in the teaser is so soft, I hope it's the full OST
