The prize for winning find the actor is a long, quiet film where nobody explains anything. I'm in.

7Minjae2026.10.18

twenty-minute chunks between chores is how I watched half my favorites, no shame. this one I'll save for a night with the phone in another room

8Taeho2026.10.17

Eight years since Burning. The Venice prize already said enough, but this poster is the first thing that made me want to see it.

7Geonwoo2026.10.17

Burning, yes. Block out two and a half hours and don't read the plot first, it works better when you're a bit lost

7marigold.mp32026.10.17

honest advertising is a good way to put it. I'm already bracing for the ending

burning still stays with me.

eight years between films, so people will treat this as an event and not just another Netflix drop

7marigold.mp32026.10.17

she looks like she's smiling and about to cry at the same time

↳
8Taeho2026.10.17

Smiling and about to cry at once is half of Lee Chang-dong's whole thing, so the poster is honest advertising.

↳
8Dabin2026.10.17

smiling and crying at the same time is me at every goodbye scene ever 😭

7velvetcrow2026.10.17

blurring zo in sung on a poster is a choice and i respect it

↳
7nightbus_92026.10.17

blurring the star on his own poster is brave. or a very expensive game of find the actor

↳
6tteok_n_roll2026.10.17

blur the cast, keep the star. dancers do this in formation all the time, whoever's sharp is who the choreo is about

7Haneul2026.10.17

everyone else a blur and one person standing still is so lee chang-dong 🥹✨ nov 6 is in my calendar

↳
8Taeho2026.10.17

Good plan. Quiet films are easy to lose on a Friday release list.

7Gaeun2026.10.17

Soft focus on everyone and one crisp figure is the oldest poster trick there is, and it still works every single time.

↳
7Nari2026.10.17

Works because your eye has nowhere else to go. Netflix will still autoplay something over the credits and ruin it, mind

↳
8Taeho2026.10.17

It works, but a poster only promises a mood. Lee Chang-dong's slow films ask for a patience a Netflix queue doesn't usually get, so I'm more curious how many people finish it than how many click.

7Nari2026.10.17

Netflix on Nov 6 means I can cry at home instead of in a cinema full of strangers. Reckon that's a win.

↳
7paperlantern2026.10.17

Crying at home is the correct format. Nobody has to watch you pause it for a snack mid-heartbreak.

8Dabin2026.10.17

ok wait, I've never seen any of his films. Is Burning the one to start with before nov 6, or do I go in blind 😭

7Geonwoo2026.10.17

Eight years between films and the marketing is a poster of a blurry crowd. Either the laziest campaign ever or the most confident one.

↳
6Fizzwick2026.10.17

Lee Chang-dong has never needed a loud poster. a blur might be the loudest he's been

7paperlantern2026.10.17

Nice poster, but a Netflix release means half of us will watch it in twenty minute chunks between chores. Exactly how this man doesn't want it watched.

One sharp face in a blurry crowd is also how every portrait mode ad works. I'll judge the film, not the poster.
