🔥Kim Jong Kook can't walk through a Taiwan night market

I've been watching the Taiwan season of "Real Men's Travel Guide" (상남자의 여행법) on SBS Plus and MBN, with Choo Sung Hoon, Kim Jong Kook and Zico, and episode 2 had the best moment of the trip so far.

They go to Shilin Night Market in Taipei and Kim Jong Kook basically can't move. Every few steps someone wants a photo. Choo Sung Hoon and Zico just stand there watching it happen with this mix of envy and "are you serious" on their faces. Then the next morning at a breakfast place a woman asks if he's the guy from Running Man, and when the crew says yes she can't hide how shocked she is. Choo Sung Hoon ends up saying Running Man is really huge, and Kim Jong Kook explains that young people in Taiwan grew up watching it the same way Koreans did. What makes it funnier is the rest of the episode keeps humbling him. At the same breakfast the three of them compare testosterone levels, and Kim Jong Kook, who was confident about it, comes dead last while Zico tops it. Zico can't hit a single balloon at the darts stall and swears it's not a character he's playing. Then there's an LED tile game where Choo Sung Hoon keeps pressing the start button by accident, they sign an injury waiver, Kim Jong Kook says "we're all going to die like this", and Zico carries the whole thing before collapsing on the floor. I've been in Korea long enough to forget how far Running Man reached. In Busan he's just a guy from TV, in Taipei he's a celebrity who needs a security plan for buying a snack. The night market bit is the real proof of the show's legacy, and I'm staying for the rest of the season because the three of them bickering is better than any travel tip they give.

LEGACY TAX is perfect. Kim Jong Kook paying it in a night market makes it worth it though

ok the breakfast lady being that shocked is so real, she probably thought he was just some guy at the next table lmao

Running Man was huge across Southeast Asia and Taiwan in the early 2010s, a lot of people learned their first Korean words from the name tag ripping games

Zico missing every dart and insisting it's not a bit is so real

he looked genuinely offended, that's how you know it wasn't a bit

the testosterone ranking is the funniest possible way to humble Kim Jong Kook lol

Southeast Asia and Taiwan I buy, but "first Korean words from name tag ripping" is a stretch. Mine was "annyeong" from a TWICE video like everyone else

Running Man legacy tax is the nicest way I've heard 'old fame follows you everywhere'.

the breakfast lady's face when the crew says yes is the best part of the episode

Kim Jong Kook can't walk through a market is the Running Man legacy tax. Zico and the darts is why I'd watch it.
