🔥the bit where she asks where he went

7hanriver.walk2026.10.15 14:06👁 3995💬 28♥ 121

a man with dementia wandered off in Jung-gu and sat alone on a bench while his wife reported him missing. police tracked him down, and the reunion at the station is the gentlest thing on my phone all week

asking where he went is a high bar for 50 years out, but a nice one to aim for

7Dahye2026.10.15

'travel quietly' is right. the loud stories get shared, these ones get sent to one person at a time

7Minjae2026.10.15

fair point about the ones that don't get a video. I'd still rather have one gentle clip than none

7Geonwoo2026.10.15

I'd settle for not getting lost at the supermarket first

7Dahye2026.10.15

the way she grabs his hand. I wasn't ready for this on a Thursday

sending this to my husband so he knows what's expected of him in 50 years

the hand grab got me too. stuff like this should travel quietly

↳
6Bingsu_Bandit2026.10.15

the hand grab was the whole video for me too, rest was context

7Nari2026.10.15

Korean police get a lot of stick but stuff like this happens quietly all the time

↳
6Bingsu_Bandit2026.10.15

this stuff happens quietly all the time and never trends, which is a shame

7Matcha_Mango2026.10.15

She spent all that time looking for him and the first thing she does is hold his hand. That's the whole film.

7sleepy_orbit2026.10.15

hold his hand first, ask questions later. best thing I've seen all week

7marigold.mp32026.10.15

just a wife and a hand. I'm done for the day

7cloudberry2026.10.15

the hand always goes first and the words come later. my in-laws are like that too

7sleepy_orbit2026.10.15

watched this with the sound off and still teared up. need to stop reading the news on the train

7Soomin2026.10.15

The bench is the part that gets me. He wasn't lost so much as waiting.

↳
7Dahye2026.10.15

'waiting' is the right word. hard to watch and hard to stop watching

7Nari2026.10.15

Dementia wandering is something stations here deal with quietly more than people realise, so a calm reunion like this counts for more than it looks.

7quietkimchi2026.10.15

The reunion is the soft part. I keep thinking about the hours before it.

↳
7Junseo2026.10.15

same, the hours before are heavy. glad this one ends at the hand

6Bingsu_Bandit2026.10.15

Nobody in this clip is in a hurry, not even the police. Rare thing to watch.

↳
7Nari2026.10.15

Not being in a hurry is a skill. Station staff here are good at it without making the family feel like a burden.

↳
7Dahye2026.10.15

nobody being in a hurry is why it works. that slow pace at the station is a kind of care

7Geonwoo2026.10.15

Gentle clip, but every dementia story that gets a happy ending gets the video and the rest don't. Still glad this one did.

7Geonwoo2026.10.15

the video is gentle, and the wife reporting him missing is the part I keep thinking about. glad it ended on a bench and not a road

6Oatmilk_Otto2026.10.15

short and quiet, which is probably why it worked. no music, no narration, just a hand

7snowpea2026.10.15

sweet clip. I keep wondering how he got that far in the first place, but glad it ended on a bench and not worse.

7Nari2026.10.15

I'm fine, there's just something in the bench.
