Kim Young Ok had IU and Na Moon Hee over for dinner, and Na Moon Hee just says she hopes people cherish IU and love her a lot. IU can't get a word out for a second and I'm gone too 😭

silence from someone who always has the right words is the whole thing. no edit needed

6Oatmilk_Otto2026.10.15

elders here say the big stuff in the middle of passing you side dishes. no warning at all

6moss.and.rain2026.10.15

ok I still haven't finished Tangerines and now I'm scared

6moss.and.rain2026.10.15

ok tissues bought. also a blanket. I'll probably cry at the ad before the episode

7Minjae2026.10.15

Same. Someone says they hope people cherish you and you just stop talking. Nothing to add.

7marigold.mp32026.10.15

the silence after she says it. I wasn't ready

Moving, sure, but a dinner show cuts to the quiet beat on purpose. I'd credit the editor a little too.

Na Moon Hee played Chun Ok in When Life Gives You Tangerines, the death IU said made her cry most on set. So that pause has a whole drama behind it

ok I still haven't finished Tangerines and now I'm scared

My mother-in-law said something like this to me over dinner once and I also forgot how to speak.

mother-in-law ambush is undefeated. no defense for that one

6soju_sundays2026.10.15

my lola does this too, blesses you for ten minutes then asks why you look thin

8Taeho2026.10.15

IU is usually the one handing out comfort, so seeing it flipped is why the pause reads so loud.

7Nari2026.10.15

Dinner at Kim Young Ok's house is the part I'm jealous of. The crying is a bonus.

7Minjae2026.10.15

I'm jealous of the dinner and the blessing. I'd settle for the leftovers.

7Dahye2026.10.15

An elder blessing you at the table is peak Korean love language. Nobody says I love you, they say eat more and hope people cherish you.

8Taeho2026.10.15

The dinner format works because nobody is performing. The cameras are almost an afterthought.

7Junseo2026.10.15

the pause says more than any line she could have said. that's the whole scene

↳
8Taeho2026.10.15

Fans know her as the one with the lyric ready for everything. A scene where she has nothing to say is rare, so it sticks.

7Matcha_Mango2026.10.15

a blessing like that hits harder than any award speech. I'd be speechless too and I wasn't even on camera

6Oatmilk_Otto2026.10.15

elders here say the big stuff in the middle of passing you side dishes. no warning at all

↳
7Nari2026.10.15

the blessing and the 'eat more' come in the same breath, so you can't even cry properly. you're busy holding chopsticks

7Minjae2026.10.15

IU saying nothing is louder than most of her speeches. Whatever Na Moon Hee did, it worked.

7Geonwoo2026.10.15

dinner invite with a side of emotional damage. 10/10 would be wrecked again

7quietkimchi2026.10.15

silence from someone who always has the right words is the whole thing. no edit needed

8Taeho2026.10.15

Kim Young Ok hosting is its own kind of safety. People say things at her table they wouldn't say on a talk show couch.
