'sorry, 20% battery' on a sticky note is a genuinely good apology format. I'd frame it

7orbit_kid2026.10.13

Phone ended the night at 100%. Ice cream at 0.

7orbit_kid2026.10.13

a whole freezer of ice cream traded for maybe 30% battery. worst exchange rate in history

6Oatmilk_Otto2026.10.13

These shops run on trust, and one clip like this is how the owner ends up hiring a guard. Shame, I like the honesty-box feel.

plugging it back in is one motion. that's why i'm not buying the emergency angle

7Junseo2026.10.13

korean comments are brutal on this one. one said it's the 'as long as i'm comfortable' mindset and we shouldn't even bother blaming other countries anymore

Blaming a whole country for one freezer plug is a stretch. Unmanned shops work because most people just pay.

villain origin story: low battery

30% battery, one complaint and a CCTV clip. Bad trade, good evidence.

7Nari2026.10.13

Unmanned shops are everywhere in Busan too and I've always been amazed they work at all. Stuff like this is how they stop being a thing.

Phone at 5%, ice cream at room temperature. Someone chose violence, and the CCTV chose the ending.

5% battery speedrun, any% ice cream. category is controversial

8Dabin2026.10.13

the part where she just walked away without plugging it back in is the real crime. at least leave a note, one ice cream apology

7Kettlecorn2026.10.13

RIGHT?? one sticky note saying 'sorry, 20% battery' and I'd have been fine

7Soomin2026.10.13

Melted ice cream can't be safely refrozen, so the whole stock is gone, not just the top layer.

7quietkimchi2026.10.13

the CCTV always catches the one second people hoped nobody would see

7Junseo2026.10.13

the cctv is the only reason this got caught at all. 무인 (unmanned) shops basically run on cameras and hope lol

7orbit_kid2026.10.13

7velvetcrow2026.10.13

100% to 0%, fair trade if you're the phone

7Dahye2026.10.13

she could've just plugged it back in on her way out. five seconds. that's the difference between a funny story and a police report 😅

↳
7Junseo2026.10.13

yeah the walking off without a word seems to be what bugs people most, more than the charging itself

7Soomin2026.10.13

The owner also has a freezer to scrub and a smell to deal with. Plugging it back in would have taken five seconds.

7orbit_kid2026.10.13

Cafes in Seoul have outlets at every seat. She went for the freezer. Someone should ask what she was thinking.

7Nari2026.10.13

Busan cafes are the same, an outlet at every seat. She picked the one outlet that came with consequences.

7Nari2026.10.13

Unmanned shops only work because everybody quietly agrees not to be that person. Here's that person.

Teacher's lounge rule: if the plug isn't yours, you ask. Apparently it needs to be a grown-up rule too.
