🔥200,000 won for four plates at a Haeundae pojangmacha

7SoominAm2026.10.17 16:11👁 971💬 19♥ 54

A Japanese couple picked a tent bar in Haeundae, ordered four plates (live octopus, sea squirt, grilled shrimp, abalone in butter) with two bottles of Chungha and a beer, and the bill came to 200,000 won. The Korean post sharing it called it the most legendary rip-off they'd seen, and one Korean viewer sent the couple 200,000 won in the video comments as an apology. That's sweet, but it shouldn't be on viewers to fix. A beach tent bar is supposed to be the cheap, fun option, and a plate of shrimp shouldn't cost like a hotel dinner.

'not mathematically insane' is how every bill I regret starts 😅 a menu on the table is the whole fix

Fair, I'd want the menu too. Still, four plates. Even market price has limits

live octopus still moving and the bill already climbing. i'd ask the price before they bring the chopsticks

'market price' is two words, 'ask first' is three. the second set saves a lot of money

Ireland has the same trap, a pub with 'catch of the day' and no price. You ask, or you find out at the card machine.

I live in Busan and I'd never sit down at a beachfront tent without seeing prices first. Seafood priced by the day is where it gets you

Devil's advocate: live octopus, abalone and sea squirt run on market prices, and it's two people drinking at a tourist spot. Steep, sure, but I'd want to see the menu before calling it a scam

"Market price" remains the two scariest words on any menu

Sad story, but four seafood plates and three bottles at a beach tent adding up to 200k isn't mathematically insane. The real crime is nobody showing prices.

the korean viewer sending 200,000 won back 😭 one-person national damage control

The viewer sending the 200,000 won is the nicest part of this. Bad tourist trap, good internet.

sweet of the viewer, but the bar should be the one apologising. a stranger shouldn't be the refund department

Asking the price before the chopsticks should be on a laminated card at every beach tent. Also unrelated, I'd still eat the abalone

Rule I give my students before any trip: no price, no order. Works in every country, including mine.

The 200k from a stranger is sweet, but I keep thinking about the couple who'll now remember Busan for the bill.

Tent bar learned nothing, a stranger paid, the couple got a story. Everyone came out of this with something except the octopus.
