Wonhee's Paris outfit is a quiet lesson in not overdoing it

ILLIT's Wonhee was in Paris for the Chanel show, and these off-duty photos had Korean fans writing that she's "really an adult now". I think the outfit is doing a lot of that work.

The striped knit cardigan is the anchor. Fine cream and dark stripes, buttoned up and worn as a top instead of over something. It reads French without turning into a costume, because the stripes are thin and the fit is close. Then straight, slightly loose blue jeans. Nothing ripped, nothing cropped. That lets the cardigan be the only pattern in the frame, which is why the whole thing looks calm. The black shoulder bag is big and soft, almost a work bag. That's the grown-up part. A tiny bag would have pulled it back toward cute.

Same idea in the other shots: a cream knit or a navy cardigan, always with denim, hair long and loose. If this were a film, the costume designer would get my vote for knowing when to stop. I'd copy the cardigan and jeans tomorrow and skip the bag, I'd lose everything in it.
