🔥Eight seasons later, Yoo Young-jin is back in an ASL final, and it took six games of pure TvT suffering
Somewhere in Daechi-dong today a Terran finally got his redemption arc. Yoo Young-jin beat Lee Jae-ho 4-2 in the first semifinal of ASL Season 22 and is going to his first final since Season 14. He was runner-up in both Season 12 and Season 14, so this is his third shot at the trophy.

It was TvT, so naturally it was six games of vultures, tank lines and two grown men refusing to leave their naturals. Lee Jae-ho did not come to play standard either. He built a proxy 2-Factory in the middle of the map on Odyssey to go up 2-1, then tried a hidden Starport with no expansion in game 4. Yoo answered by skipping his own expansion for a fast 2-Factory, held off the vulture drop and tied it. Game 5 was the one. Lee did real damage with Wraiths, dropships and sneaky vultures, hit the 3 o'clock expansion with two dropships and was even ahead on supply. Didn't matter. Yoo just sat outside Lee's natural with sieged tanks and never let go of that line. Then he closed it out in game 6 with the same kind of contain. At some point it stops being a strategy and becomes a lifestyle. As someone whose TvT plan in a PC bang was "make tanks and pray", I respect this deeply. Two lost finals already: does he finally get it this time, or is this going to be the most Brood War story ever and he loses a third one?
