🔥A Korean guy finally figured out why his dad kept bringing home Coke serial numbers for MapleStory
This one is going around Korean communities and it got me a little.

Back then, Coca-Cola cans in Korea had a serial number on the tab. You typed it into an event site, got points, and traded the points for MapleStory items. The writer says their family was seriously poor at the time. Dad's company had gone under, and he was working nights at a bar, as a waiter or the guy who pulls customers in off the street, they're not sure which. Maple cash was out of the question. Even one can of Coke wasn't easy. One day dad saw the kid typing in a code and asked what it was. The kid explained. From the next day on, every time dad came home from work he handed over a slip of paper with serial numbers written on it. Around 30 on a normal day, over 50 on a good one. The kid bought speech-bubble cash items and unlimited potions and was just happy. Years later it clicked. Dad had been going through the bar's trash after his shift, peeling off the tabs one by one and copying the numbers down by hand. The second half is a KakaoTalk they had just had with him. The writer pulled an all-nighter, heard the Coke Town BGM on YouTube, and messaged dad at 8:35 in the morning to say thanks, it must have been hard copying all those. Dad: "ㅋㅋㅋ that's just how it is." Then: "as long as you kids liked it, that's enough. now go to sleep." Meanwhile my biggest gaming sacrifice was skipping lunch for PC bang hours. What's the most dad thing your parents ever did for a game you were into?
