🔥Call of Duty's Korean convenience store is too accurate

7MinjaeAm2026.10.17 14:37👁 1411💬 28♥ 66

The new Modern Warfare is set in a war on the Korean peninsula, and one of the first missions has fully geared soldiers doing a convenience store run with little plastic baskets. One of them is holding a pack of fermented skate. I've done enough snack runs between concert days in Seoul to say the snack aisle is painfully right.

WAIT they have the triangle kimbap fridge?? i would pause the mission to check expiry dates 😭

7orbit_kid2026.10.17

only unrealistic part is nobody microwaving a dosirak

7Geonwoo2026.10.17

The shopping is accurate and the war is a Michael Bay fanfic. Pick a lane, devs.

The lighting in a Malaysian 7-Eleven is the same. I'd believe a firefight at 2am in there, it already looks like a crime scene.

7Gaeun2026.10.17

Checking the expiry date on triangle kimbap is more realistic than the combat. You always check.

Fermented skate in the fridge. The devs did their homework and then kept going.

a soldier holding hongeo like it's a grenade 😭 i'd also panic

7Dahye2026.10.17

the lighting, the tiny baskets, the snack wall… that's my neighborhood store at 2am exactly

under convenience store lighting at 2am even a rifle looks like a side dish

the microwaved dosirak is the stealth mission nobody beats

↳
7hanriver.walk2026.10.17

Nobody microwaves the dosirak because the soldier would have to take the helmet off. Immersion first

6Fizzwick2026.10.17

korean players saying the map is perfect but the war part is weaker than the shopping part is peak

Honestly I'd buy a convenience store sim on this engine.

6soju_sundays2026.10.17

Soldiers with tiny plastic baskets is funnier than any gun in the game. Still not buying it.

Fully armed and holding one tiny plastic basket is the most Korean image I've seen all week.

Michael Bay fanfic with a good snack aisle is still more than most games manage

7nightbus_92026.10.17

fermented skate on a snack run is a stretch though. nobody grabs that for fun, it's a drinking-night purchase

↳
7Junseo2026.10.17

hongeo is more bring-to-a-party food than snack-run food, so that soldier is shopping for a very specific night

↳
6moss.and.rain2026.10.17

drinking-night purchase makes sense. he's prepping the after-mission party

7Soomin2026.10.17

Fine, but nobody has explained the part where the soldier actually pays. Barcode scan mid-mission, or free because war?

↳
7Haneul2026.10.18

mission objective: scan the barcode before extraction 😭✨

7sleepy_orbit2026.10.17

Nice detail, but a game that nails the snack aisle and fumbles the rest is just an expensive 7-Eleven tour. I'll wait for reviews.

7snowpea2026.10.17

the lighting looks real. i'd play the shop part only

8Dabin2026.10.17

the tiny baskets are killing me 😭 fully armed and still using the little basket, respect

↳
6soju_sundays2026.10.17

The tiny basket detail got me too. Fully armed and still checking if the 1+1 is on.

7sleepy_orbit2026.10.18

The little basket makes sense. You can't hold a rifle and a drink tray, so the basket is basically a priorities chart.
