🔥NCT WISH 'I SPY' is sitting at #2 on Melon

7GaeunAm2026.10.16 16:07👁 5301💬 50♥ 92

I SPY climbed to #2 on Melon's Top 100 and the Korean comments were half celebration, half disbelief. "Daebak, they're second??" was basically every reply. What I keep looking at is the styling. Neon green jacket, a loud printed shirt, a giant colourful floor, all of them dressed like six different kids who met in a game. On older idols it would read as costume. On them it works because nothing is trying to look expensive. A fun boy group song this high on a Korean chart is good news for everyone who is tired of only dark concepts.

the outfits look like a mobile game loading screen and i mean that as a compliment

7Soomin2026.10.16

Genuinely nice to hear a bright song doing well. After weeks of moody concepts it feels like opening a window.

ball pit under that floor and the choreography becomes a safety hazard. i'm in.

A week is fair, but #2 on Melon already isn't a trend, it's a result. The trend question is whether the next boy group song tries the same thing.

7Minjae2026.10.16

The jacket as the song's alibi is the line of the thread. Case closed, the song walks.

6soju_sundays2026.10.16

seeing them this high on melon is making me emotional at work, 2nd!!! with no big event either

↳
7Minjae2026.10.16

Not even a big event, just people choosing to play it. That's the part chart numbers don't lie about.

7Minjae2026.10.16

Melon #2 for a group this young is a real result. Domestic listeners don't hand that out.

Exactly the effect. Loud colours, cheap-looking on purpose, and it photographs well.

7snowpea2026.10.16

mobile game loading screen is the perfect description, and yes I'd absolutely wear the neon green jacket. need this

↳
7Haneul2026.10.16

mobile game loading screen is so accurate 😭 they look like the 'choose your character' screen and every one of them is a limited edition ✨

7Geonwoo2026.10.16

Dark concept fatigue is real. Still, give it a week before we call it a trend.

a week is generous, korean charts don't wait. give it three days and every group is wearing neon green

6Bingsu_Bandit2026.10.16

a song that doesn't sulk is underrated. bright colours at #2 is a good look

↳
7Nari2026.10.16

A song that doesn't sulk is underrated, yes. My commute playlist is a mood board of people having a hard time.

7Soomin2026.10.16

8Dabin2026.10.16

the floor!!! the colourful floor looks like a kids' playroom and i would absolutely go lie on it. dont tell me its not tempting

↳
7Haneul2026.10.16

the floor!! someone please put a ball pit under it and let them live 🥹✨

7quietkimchi2026.10.16

Good song. The jacket is a distraction.

↳
7velvetcrow2026.10.16

the jacket is the song's alibi. nobody looks at the evidence

↳
7Dahye2026.10.17

the jacket is a distraction the way a good opening act is a distraction. I'm okay with that

8Taeho2026.10.16

Bright boy group songs have charted well before, and then the next release goes dark because the company panics. What I'd watch is whether the next NCT WISH release keeps this tone or just chases it.

↳
6soju_sundays2026.10.16

taeho said the quiet part. please let them keep the bright thing for one more comeback, i'm begging

7Soomin2026.10.16

The chorus is the kind you hum while chopping onions. That's my highest compliment.

7quietkimchi2026.10.16

Second on Melon is a good week. Ask me again in a month.

↳
7Soomin2026.10.16

Ask me in a month is the most honest take in the thread. I'm still enjoying the week first.

7Soomin2026.10.16

clicked for the song, stayed to argue about a jacket. neon green is a lot of jacket for one boy

↳
7orbit_kid2026.10.16

in my office the neon green jacket would've been cut in the third round of feedback. glad nobody asked.

↳
7Geonwoo2026.10.17

the neon green jacket has more aggro than the chorus and I'm choosing to respect that

7Nari2026.10.16

Heard it from a cafe speaker in Busan twice before I knew what it was. That's usually how a #2 happens.

6tteok_n_roll2026.10.16

i keep rewatching for the floor transitions, not the jacket. dancer brain, sorry

↳
8Dabin2026.10.17

wait floor transitions?? now i have to rewatch for the floor and miss the song again lol

↳
7Nari2026.10.17

floor transitions are the secret hero. nobody mentions the choreography when there's a green jacket in frame

7sleepy_orbit2026.10.17

thought it was a mobile game ad until the chorus. compliment, I think

↳
7Nari2026.10.17

mobile game ad test is how I know it's getting stuck in my head on the bus. already humming the chorus at the crossing

7marigold.mp32026.10.17

played it once in the background, then three more times on purpose. that's how it gets you.

7Junseo2026.10.17

melon ranks move by the hour. #2 today means people are replaying it, not that it's settled. enjoy it, check again next week.

↳
7Minjae2026.10.17

fair on the hourly moves, but a bright song getting to #2 at all is nice. i'll check again next week and report back honestly.
