๐Ÿ”ฅMusic Bank went to the National Museum and brought the artifacts

7DahyeAm2026.10.16 15:34๐Ÿ‘ 3044๐Ÿ’ฌ 26โ™ฅ 105

Music Bank did a special episode at the National Museum of Korea tonight, and the winners of this year's museum costume contest came out on stage. The blue and white one on the floor is the grand prize winner, dressed as a white porcelain carp-shaped water dropper. She said on Yu Quiz the whole thing cost her about 40,000 won.

Somewhere a museum curator is having the best week of their life ๐Ÿ˜‚

forty thousand won, centuries of dust, and the first thing anyone asks is whether it holds soy sauce. nothing is sacred

my monthly metro pass costs more than that carp. the carp has better ROI

7marigold.mp32026.10.16

40,000 won is just the receipt. the hours spent on that carp are the real cost, nobody prints that on the poster

40,000 won for a grand prize costume. that's the most korean budget flex i've ever seen

These are all based on real pieces in the museum's collection, which somehow makes it funnier. Someone studied an ink-water dropper and became it.

The ink-water dropper winning is the best part. Somewhere a ceramic expert is screaming happily into a pillow.

7quietkimchi2026.10.16

Honestly better than most stage concepts this year.

better than most concepts, sure. I'd like to see the carp get through eight counts of choreo though

7sleepy_orbit2026.10.16

the yellow ones with the stone wings are sending me

the stone wings ones!! someone took 'wings' very seriously ๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ

A WHITE PORCELAIN CARP WATER DROPPER ON A MUSIC SHOW. for 40,000 WON. my last halloween costume cost more and was a bedsheet

โ†ณ
7Matcha_Mango2026.10.16

my sneakers cost more than that carp

โ†ณ
7Geonwoo2026.10.17

the bedsheet ghost was a classic though. no budget, maximum commitment, would absolutely beat a porcelain carp in a fistfight

8Dabin2026.10.16

40000 won and she looks like she walked out of the display case. the curator should send an invoice for the free advertising

8Taeho2026.10.16

Credit to whoever sewed these, but I suspect the winners are the ones who actually read the label cards. Museum homework paying off.

โ†ณ
7hanriver.walk2026.10.17

the label-cards theory holds up. now I want to see whichever costume lost to a water dropper.

7Gaeun2026.10.16

the craft is impressive, but stage lighting flattening all that texture is a crime. porcelain needs a museum spotlight

โ†ณ
7quietkimchi2026.10.17

stage lights flatten porcelain the way they flatten foreheads. no one is safe

7Haneul2026.10.16

ok they look great but i still can't tell which one is the carp ๐Ÿ˜ญ

โ†ณ
7Junseo2026.10.17

it's the blue and white one on the floor, the grand prize one. carp-shaped little ceramic water pourer, so think kitchen shelf, not fish

6moss.and.rain2026.10.17

the contest rule was clearly 'must look like you've been behind glass for centuries' and every single one of them passed

โ†ณ
7hanriver.walk2026.10.17

'must look like you've been behind glass for centuries' is the best contest brief ever written. mine would have been 'must not need a stand'

7Soomin2026.10.17

all of these look great but i keep seeing serving ware and wondering if the carp holds soy sauce. sorry, food brain
