🔥why Koreans keep singing 'mihon and bihon' to A2O LITE's NEON
The detail I can't unhear now: the opening line of NEON. Korean listeners decided it sounds like 미혼 앤 비혼 (mihon and bihon, roughly "unmarried and anti-marriage"), followed by 위염 앤 비염 ("gastritis and rhinitis"). That is now how a good part of the Korean internet sings it. Quick context. A2O LITE is the 9-member girl group Lee Soo-man debuted on the 12th, his first new group in Korea in about three years, and NEON hit #1 on Melon's Top 100 within 29 hours. On top of the lyric thing there's a wave of AI parody videos of the intro dance done by old drama characters, kids and dogs. Even Sunny joined in with a clip of young Lee Soo-man and Yoo Young-jin doing the choreo. A debut where the most famous line is a medical diagnosis. Marketing teams pay a lot for that kind of stickiness and this one came free.
