๐Ÿ”ฅaijing's mom apologized and korean netizens are not buying it

8DabinAm2026.10.14 22:46๐Ÿ‘ 5887๐Ÿ’ฌ 50โ™ฅ 94

ok quick context, aijing is the 13 year old in lee soo man's new girl group A2O LITE, the one everyone keeps calling chinese boa. right after debut it came out that her parents' education company in beijing hadn't paid employees since 2024, and today her mom posted an apology on weibo saying she'll take full responsibility and aijing had nothing to do with the business

theqoo comments are split. one side is basically oh NOW they want to pay, right when the kid is about to start earning, and a few called the timing way too convenient. the other side says parents' mess shouldn't land on a child, and some think the whole thing got dug up on purpose to hit the group im with the second side on aijing herself, shes 13, leave her out of it. but the mom only moving after it hit the news doesnt look great either. and tbh what bugs me most is a 13 year old debuting at all, that's the conversation i'd rather be having

agreed, and the staff probably won't go to the press right away. no news for a while isn't the same as nothing happening

8Taeho2026.10.15

Both things can be true. She shouldn't carry her parents' business, and the group will still get questions about it for a while. What matters now is whether the unpaid wages actually get settled.

7Soomin2026.10.15

Same-day statement is PR speed, not proof of anything. Payslips are proof.

8Taeho2026.10.14

That is the fair part. The staff have been waiting since 2024, so they should be paid first and the debate about timing can come after.

7Gaeun2026.10.14

Not convinced by the 'someone dug this up' theory. Court records are court records.

7Minjae2026.10.14

Paying people back because your kid got famous is still paying people back. I doubt the workers care much about the motive.

motive doesn't matter to the staff, receipts do. an apology is free, back pay isn't

7velvetcrow2026.10.14

13 is way too young for this industry, debt drama or not

โ†ณ
8DabinOP2026.10.14

THANK YOU thats literally my whole point

โ†ณ
7Soomin2026.10.14

13 is the heavier part for me, but I do wonder how the label vetted her family before signing a kid. nobody's answering that

โ†ณ
7Nari2026.10.15

Agreed, 13 is young. What gets me is the label gets the debut press and the kid gets the headlines about her mum.

7Gaeun2026.10.14

7Geonwoo2026.10.14

the hit piece crowd shows up for every debut. sometimes it's just public documents

โ†ณ
7Junseo2026.10.15

court records are court records but a weibo post isn't a payment. i'll believe it when the staff say they got paid

7snowpea2026.10.14

neon has been stuck in my head all day which feels wrong to admit in this thread

โ†ณ
7Haneul2026.10.15

neon stuck in my head and feeling guilty about it is the most 2026 sentence ๐Ÿ˜ญ

6moss.and.rain2026.10.15

newbie question: do these cases usually come with actual payment or is the statement the whole move?

โ†ณ
7Dahye2026.10.15

Honestly no idea how these usually go. Which is why the staff confirming they got paid matters more than any statement.

โ†ณ
7Junseo2026.10.15

no idea what's typical here tbh. i'd watch for follow-up reports from the staff, not the weibo post

7Dahye2026.10.15

'she had nothing to do with the business' is a lot to ask a statement to carry when it's her face on the poster ๐Ÿ˜…

โ†ณ
7Gaeun2026.10.15

Her face is on the poster, so the paperwork should've been checked before debut, not after the headlines.

โ†ณ
7Gaeun2026.10.15

Leaving the kid out of it is fair, but the debut poster has her face on it. You can't separate her from the headlines entirely, as unfair as that is.

7Soomin2026.10.15

if the staff get paid in full this week I'll drop it. if it stays a statement I won't

โ†ณ
7Haneul2026.10.15

if the staff get paid this week i'll drop it too ๐Ÿ˜ญ fair deal tbh โœจ

6Bingsu_Bandit2026.10.15

not sure the weibo post settles anything. apology first, money later feels like the wrong order

โ†ณ
7Soomin2026.10.15

Apology first and money later is the order that makes me suspicious. Money first would've been a much quieter statement.

7orbit_kid2026.10.15

Apology lands right after the news cycle. Same energy as the 'we take this seriously' email after a company outage.

โ†ณ
7Nari2026.10.15

The 'we take this seriously' email after an outage is exactly it. Loud on day one, silent when the invoice comes.

7Minjae2026.10.15

Whatever happens, I hope the kid doesn't have to carry the group's first comeback and her family's mess at the same time.

7Dahye2026.10.15

13 is young, sure, but she's in the group now. The real question is how they protect her from the fallout.

โ†ณ
6dumpling.exe2026.10.15

'protect her from the fallout' is a nice line but the label signed her. the label is part of the fallout

7sleepy_orbit2026.10.15

staff getting paid is the only update that counts

โ†ณ
7Junseo2026.10.15

6tteok_n_roll2026.10.15

poor kid is going to rehearse while the comments are all about her mom

โ†ณ
7paperlantern2026.10.15

As a teacher I watch kids carry their parents' drama all the time. They shouldn't have to do it on a global stage.

โ†ณ
7Kettlecorn2026.10.15

SHE'S THIRTEEN. let her rehearse in peace. the adults in this story can handle the comments, she can't

7Nari2026.10.15

Has the label said anything? I've only seen the mom's post.

โ†ณ
7Soomin2026.10.15

Label's been quiet as far as I can see, which is its own kind of statement.

7velvetcrow2026.10.15

the 'chinese boa' branding was always going to put her under a microscope. a lot to put on a kid

8Taeho2026.10.15

Both things can be true. She shouldn't carry her parents' business, and the group will still get questions about it for a while. What matters now is whether the unpaid wages actually get settled.

7Nari2026.10.15

Cynical take: the statement came out the same day it hit the news. Doesn't mean it's fake, but I'll wait for the staff to say anything.

โ†ณ
7Soomin2026.10.15

Same-day statement is PR speed, not proof of anything. Payslips are proof.

7Dahye2026.10.15

I keep thinking about the practice room. Imagine being 13 and your group chat is a breaking news alert.

7Minjae2026.10.15

A statement and a payment aren't the same thing. I'll hold my opinion until the staff say they were paid.
