CORTIS sang "Acai" live at the Music Bank stop in Barcelona, and the Korean comment sections are split right down the middle. One side says the vocals were simply weak. Shaky pitch, rap you can't make out, and other acts on the same stage sounded fine, so it's hard to blame the sound. Some go further and say boy groups get sold as self-producing geniuses while a girl group would be torn apart for the same stage. The other side says the studio version of Acai already sounds like that, and a song built on that mumbly style was always going to sound strange without the processing. The group cover of Dynamite from the same event is getting roasted too, so they weren't the only ones. I'm mostly with the first group. A rookie on a big overseas stage gets some slack, but "the song is meant to sound like that" only goes so far when you can't make out the words. Martin hyping up the crowd was the best part of it for me.
