🔥A2O LITE debut: the styling is very SM, the ages are not

7GaeunAm2026.10.13 16:58👁 4956💬 44♥ 93

Lee Soo Man showed his two new groups at KINTEX on the 12th, nine girls in A2O LITE and fifteen boys in A2O SOUL. Looking only at the clothes, you can tell exactly whose project this is. White cropped tops, wide white pants with silver panels, a bit of metal, everyone matching but not identical. It is the f(x) / early aespa formula and Korean commenters noticed it immediately. People keep naming BoA, Jessica and Sulli when they talk about the members. One comment under the theqoo post said the styling feels Japanese, and I see it too. The layering and the soft hair are very Harajuku-meets-SM. My problem is the age. Three members (Ayun, OA and Aijing) were born in 2013. That makes them 13, the youngest girl group debut on record according to the Korean press. One Korean comment was just "our household cat was born in 2009" and honestly that says it. I can admire a well-made stage and still think a 13-year-old should be styled like a 13-year-old, with no crop top on a big showcase stage. The production is good. I just would have waited three years before putting them there.

Nine girls, fifteen boys, one convention hall. SM is the only company that debuts a small town and calls it two projects.

7Soomin2026.10.14

fifteen boys, one dryer. somebody's group chat is crying

7Haneul2026.10.14

the spreadsheet is called 'who is who v7_FINAL_real' and it lives in someone's nightmares 😭

7Haneul2026.10.13

silver panel pants 😭✨ SM really said if it works put metal on it again

7nightbus_92026.10.13

Hiding trainees in a practice room and selling them on a stage aren't the same thing, though. One's a basement, the other's a billboard.

8Dabin2026.10.13

no bc the stage was actually good?? but 2013 kids. i was in high school in 2013. i feel ancient and also kind of uncomfortable

6soju_sundays2026.10.13

same. 'but they're so talented' never answers the age question. good stage, still kids

7Kettlecorn2026.10.13

the choreo is SO clean though. like these kids can DANCE

↳
7GaeunOP2026.10.13

They can, nobody is saying otherwise. Being good at 13 is exactly why they'd still be good at 16.

↳
7marigold.mp32026.10.13

clean choreo at that age means a lot of hours somewhere. i keep thinking about the hours

↳
8Taeho2026.10.14

I'll grant the choreography is strong. That's a point for the trainers, not for the age.

8Taeho2026.10.13

Korean labels debuted 15-year-olds for years and people shrugged. The line keeps moving younger and the reaction gets smaller each time. 13 should be where it stops.

7Minjae2026.10.13

I'd push back a little. Trainees this young exist at every company, A2O just put them on stage instead of hiding them. Not saying it's fine, but it's not new.

↳
8Dabin2026.10.13

ok but where does it stop. it was 15, now 13, next year someone says 12 is fine because 'trained since 8' and everyone shrugs again

7orbit_kid2026.10.13

the cat comment is the whole review

↳
7Haneul2026.10.13

household cat born in 2009 😭🐈 that line has no business being this accurate ✨

7velvetcrow2026.10.13

silver panel pants is the most SM thing i've seen this year lol

↳
7Haneul2026.10.13

silver panel pants 😭✨ SM really said if it works put metal on it again

↳
8Dabin2026.10.13

SM could put a lamp in silver panels and the comments would go 'ahh classic'

7Geonwoo2026.10.13

My only stat check: do they still get school hours? Everything else is outfit discourse.

↳
7Nari2026.10.13

As a teacher: 'school hours' on paper and school hours in practice are two different timetables. I'd like to see the second one.

↳
7Junseo2026.10.14

honest question from someone who lived in seoul: what do 'school hours' even mean when the company runs its own training? no idea, would like to hear from anyone who knows

6Fizzwick2026.10.13

can dance is the minimum for a debut. the real test is what they look like at 19 when the novelty is gone

↳
7Soomin2026.10.13

Fair, and nobody judges a debut by month one anyway. Check back when the second comeback lands.

↳
8Dabin2026.10.14

i cried at a school recital at 13 and that was a room of parents. these girls got a billboard. i can't stop thinking about that part

7snowpea2026.10.13

silver panel pants on someone who still needs a permission slip for the school trip. that's a lot of metal

↳
7Haneul2026.10.13

permission slip in silver panels 😭 the contrast is doing way too much ✨

7Junseo2026.10.13

the styling takes one second to clock, the age takes the rest of the thread lol

6Bingsu_Bandit2026.10.13

Fifteen boys in matching-but-not-identical outfits. Somebody's laundry day is a project.

↳
7Soomin2026.10.14

fifteen boys, one dryer. somebody's group chat is crying

6moss.and.rain2026.10.14

Is 'youngest on record' something you put on the poster, or something you hope nobody searches?

↳
7quietkimchi2026.10.14

the poster says it politely, the search results say it louder

6Oatmilk_Otto2026.10.14

that cat line should be on a poster

↳
7Soomin2026.10.14

Put it on the poster and watch the legal team call within the hour.

↳
6Oatmilk_Otto2026.10.14

a small town with one dress code and one landlord. checks out

8Dabin2026.10.14

ok everyone's arguing about age and i'm still stuck on how you even learn that many faces and names, the staff must have a spreadsheet

↳
7Haneul2026.10.14

the spreadsheet is called 'who is who v7_FINAL_real' and it lives in someone's nightmares 😭

7Soomin2026.10.14

nine girls and fifteen boys is a class photo with a budget

↳
7Minjae2026.10.14

I just hope the youngest one gets a normal birthday cake and a day off. the rest is above my pay grade

↳
7sleepy_orbit2026.10.14

class photo with a budget and a seating chart nobody reads
