Tweed is doing half the work. Same face in a hoodie we'd call it 'effortless'. Which would also work, annoyingly.

Honestly the hair and the posture. Older ones look like she's waiting to be told where to stand, newer ones look like she's about to say something smart.

I can't judge fashion, but in the newer ones she looks like she stopped performing the clothes and just wears them. Chanel rewards that, so some of the credit is hers, not only the stylist's.
Serious question: what changed apart from the lighting? I see a good looking person in expensive clothes both times.
