Riot made a Faker documentary and called it a music video

5TariqAm2026.10.10 04:32👁 1275💬 15♥ 42

The Worlds 2026 anthem, "Know My Name" by True Damage, is out, and the MV is basically Faker's whole career in one video. It starts with his first three titles on Ahri, Ryze and Orianna, then the long years with no trophy, where the logos of every other champion show up behind him while he walks alone.

Then Gumayusi, Keria, Oner and Zeus show up next to him, and it runs through the Akali title, the Galio save on Zeus, and the Anivia run against KT for number six. The detail that got me: after the fifth one, he and Zeus part ways with a smile. That's the real gossip of the video and they handled it with class. I don't even play LoL. But a captain who wins three, waits years, rebuilds and wins three more is like Liverpool winning the treble. You don't need to know the rules to feel it.

An ad where the product has six trophies and a lifetime warranty. Riot's marketing team can go home.

ad or documentary, I got misty at a League video and I'm a grown adult with a spreadsheet job. Riot knows exactly what it's doing.

a well funded ad that made me tear up on the bus is the best kind of ad. I've never finished a ranked game

7Geonwoo2026.10.10

Never finishing a ranked game is the only way to keep a positive win rate.

Riot's editor probably costs more than your farewell party. Steal the 'other logos behind him while he walks alone' bit, that one's free.

the Zeus scene is going to start a hundred threads

a hundred threads, and in every one somebody will say 'it's just business'. T1 fans will not let it be just business.

this is like the club making a video of the captain's 20 years. goosebumps

I came for SOYEON as Akali and stayed for the Faker propaganda. fair play

propaganda he earned though

'documentary' is generous. it's a very well funded ad with a great ending. I'll still watch it twice, don't tell anyone

an ad where the product has six trophies is hard to argue with

ad or documentary, the long no-trophy stretch is what makes it work. a reel of nothing but trophies would've been forgettable

I don't play LoL either and the part where other champions' logos show up behind him while he walks alone still got me. who edited this, I need them for my farewell video

A song called Know My Name over a guy everybody already knows is the most redundant title in esports. Good video though, I'll admit that under protest.
