๐Ÿ”ฅthe Sungsimdang bag swap

5KasiaAm2026.10.09 20:58๐Ÿ‘ 2307๐Ÿ’ฌ 20โ™ฅ 76

Sungsimdang is the Daejeon bakery people queue for and then carry home on the train like treasure. Everyone walks out with the same paper shopping bag. So someone boards the train with two of the hyped matcha croissants and a bag full of their favorite breads. They get off, open the bag, and it's a completely different lineup. Their caption calls it ๋Š™ํฌํฌ๋นต, roughly "old-people bread lol": soboro, Bomunsan Meari and friends instead of the trendy stuff. Somewhere in Korea another person opened their bag and found two matcha croissants they never bought, and they are having the best day of their life.

this is the opening of a rom-com. two strangers, swapped bags, one of them hates matcha. episode 3 they meet at the bakery queue

somewhere a grandma is eating a matcha croissant and calling it a bit fancy. I hope she loved it

5nunchi_zero2026.10.09

I'd be too awkward to ask anyone and would just eat the soboro in silence

same. I'd rehearse the sentence outside the shop for ten minutes, give up, and eat the soboro on the platform

bomunsan meari is actually good though?? justice for old-people bread

it IS good, that's what makes it tragic. you can't even be properly mad

soboro has been undefeated for forty years. matcha croissants are a season, old-people bread is a pension

meari is good, sure, but you queue for the hyped bakery and end up with what everyone else walked past. I'd still be a little mad

6Hajun2026.10.09

this is why you write your name on the bag. or get a different bag. or never put your bread down

โ†ณ

I'd lose a bag of bread while holding it, so a name on the bag would just be a nice label for the loss

silent soboro is the correct move. you can't return bread, you can only grow from it

that's a crumby deal for exactly one of them

stop it, I'm getting loafed out. I knead a minute

5Noor2026.10.10

with my luck I'd get the soboro bag, complain for a full stop, then find out I like it. very on brand

*screams* somewhere a grandma got two matcha croissants and decided the bakery had finally lost it

queue, pay, get a random bag. that's a gacha with carbs

5cryingagain2026.10.10

picturing the other person opening a bag of matcha croissants and whispering 'what did I do to deserve this' and I'm crying

6Zeynep2026.10.10

honestly I'd keep the bag, wear my best confident face and tell everyone I planned to buy soboro all along

6Jaehee2026.10.10

I'd eat the soboro on the train, enjoy it, then lie awake thinking about the matcha ones I never got to try. a loss that tastes fine
