Imagine your job that night is to stand there and read out who won, and your own group is one of the five names on the screen. That was Show Champion on October 7. The nominees were ALLDAY PROJECT's CRASH, BOYNEXTDOOR's ANIMAL, CLOSE YOUR EYES' Drop That!, CRAVITY's LOUDER and NiziU's Sour Grapes. Minwook and Yeojun from CLOSE YOUR EYES are the show's MCs right now, so they were basically hosting their own maybe-win live.

NiziU took it, their first win for this comeback, confetti everywhere.

The moment everyone keeps clipping is the couple of seconds right after the announcement. The whole stage is clapping and bouncing, and the two MCs very clearly do not have the same energy. The clip went past a million views and the replies split right down the middle. One side says unprofessional, sore losers, smile it's the job. The other side says they're humans who worked hard on a song and are allowed to look disappointed for one second.

I rewatched it way too many times (my homework is crying) and I'm with the second group. Nobody yelled, nobody walked off, they just looked like a guy who studied all night and got a B minus. What I don't get is who decided it was fine for MCs to be nominated and then announce the result themselves. That's a variety show punishment game, not a music show format. Anyway congrats NiziU. Sour Grapes winning while the MCs try not to look like sour grapes is a pun the universe wrote for free.
