🔥haechan treating hate comments like a gift you can return

5sleepy_jpgAm2026.10.08 16:04👁 7362💬 43♥ 101

A fan at a fansign asked Haechan for tips on dealing with hate comments. His answer: think of them as gifts, and since they're gifts, you're allowed to refuse them.

Writing this on a sticky note and putting it on my forehead.

Footballers mute their mentions after a missed penalty. Saying 'return to sender' out loud to a fan's face is a braver move.

5sleepy_jpgOP2026.10.08

self-care is accepting the gift and leaving it unopened outside the door

6screamingcarrot2026.10.08

*screams* ok but who pays the shipping on the return

4Hiro_K2026.10.08

There's a similar idea in Japanese mail, 受取拒否, where you refuse to accept a parcel and it goes back to the sender. Polite, and kind of savage

7Minjae2026.10.08

mindset helps, but people who handle hate well usually have someone telling them 'you're fine' every day. hope he has that group chat. hope all of us do

4Niamh2026.10.08

이게 해찬이지 (that's so Haechan). this is exactly why we never worry about him

5Layla2026.10.08

the kid who used to be the group's chaos is giving TED talks at fansigns now

↳
5Aino2026.10.08

next he sells the course. 'Refuse the Gift: a 12-week program'

5nunchi_zero2026.10.08

I can't even refuse a free sample at the supermarket. refusing a gift is next level

↳
5sleepy_jpgOP2026.10.08

self-care is accepting the gift and leaving it unopened outside the door

6Lukas932026.10.08

good line, but it's easier when you have a company filtering the worst of it for you

↳
4Hyunseo2026.10.08

lol true, still a mindset worth borrowing

↳
5Aino2026.10.08

a company can filter the comments, but it can't say it to a fan's face at a fansign. that part was all him

↳

both can be true. the company filters the worst, and he still had to say this with a straight face to a stranger holding a lightstick

he made 'return to sender' sound cute. that's the actual talent

Haechan opened a return desk at a fansign. no receipt needed, 해찬 post office, we accept all negativity as undeliverable

↳
5kiwi_savage2026.10.08

No receipt, no refund, no mercy. Best customer service in K-pop.

↳
5Camila2026.10.08

해찬 post office, five stars. would return negativity again, free shipping both ways

↳
5lol_true2026.10.08

lol true, 해찬 post office needs a real branch

5nunchi_zero2026.10.08

returned a gift to my aunt once. I'm still hearing about it 3 years later. 눈치 zero, grandma lore forever

6hazel_n_honey2026.10.08

cute line, but 'refuse the gift' gets harder when it's 400 gifts and one of them knows your school

↳
4Hyunseo2026.10.09

lol true, the 400 gifts part is the real problem

4Rafa2026.10.08

refusing the gift. adding that to my vocabulary

4Sofia2026.10.08

sticky note on the forehead, I need the photo for the album of this fandom!!

↳
5Kofi.A2026.10.08

forehead sticky note as the prop for my next dance cover. I'm in, full commitment

6screamingcarrot2026.10.08

*screams* ok but who pays the shipping on the return

↳
5Kofi.A2026.10.08

paid in aegyo, obviously. that's their whole shipping department

6Jaehee2026.10.08

my sister sends me notes on my playlists and I accept every one. return policy: none. self-care: also none

4Thandi2026.10.08

Cute line. Not sure 'refuse' works when the gifts keep showing up every day though.

↳
6Yuki2026.10.08

refusing is a one-time decision, the 3am scroll is every day. the sticky note is doing a lot of heavy lifting

6ppalli_ppalli2026.10.08

Vocab: 거절 (geojeol) = refusal. Great line, but I'd like to see him refuse a gift from his own grandma first. That's the real final boss.

↳
6Yuki2026.10.08

grandma gifts have a zero-day return window and also you have to finish the plate. he'd fold in about four seconds

7Minjae2026.10.08

also respect to the fan who asked. imagine getting three seconds with your bias and spending them on therapy

I work retail so I can confirm returning stuff politely is a real skill. he just applied it to feelings

5aaaahelsinki2026.10.08

*screams* he said that to a stranger holding a lightstick and then probably went to eat chicken. the composure. I can't

5kiwi_savage2026.10.08

Hate comments are just unsolicited gifts from people with too much free time. Regift to the group chat.

↳
6Ioana2026.10.09

regifting hate to the group chat is how you lose the group chat

5Tariq2026.10.09

Footballers mute their mentions after a missed penalty. Saying 'return to sender' out loud to a fan's face is a braver move.

7Junseo2026.10.09

nice line, but gifts at least have a visible giver. most of these are anonymous parcels, no return address, so 'refuse' is easier said than done

6meh_espresso2026.10.09

Great advice. My brain has been signing for every package since 2019.

↳
6hazel_n_honey2026.10.09

signing for every package since 2019 is such a specific kind of tired lol

I'd refuse the gift, then open it anyway at 1am with a bowl of Shin Ramyun and read it twice. That's the part he skipped.

↳
6meh_espresso2026.10.09

1am Shin Ramyun is the real return policy. No receipt, extra egg.

easy to say when millions of people are screaming your name. my hate-comment department is a group chat of four and one of them is my sister
