🔥The high schooler whose 6-keys-up cover hit 6 million views is 22 now, and her stage with Sohyang is the one to watch

5moonchild_Am2026.10.07 14:30👁 7345💬 63♥ 111

Some of you might remember this. A high school girl sang Monday Kiz's 사랑이 식었다고 말해도 돼 ("You can say our love has gone cold") six keys up on 일소라, the channel that uploads goosebump live clips of regular people. It got around 6 million views.

An Instiz post today caught up with her. She's Choi Eun-bin, 22 now, and she was on the audition show 우리들의 발라드 (Our Ballad).

The post says hateful comments during the show left her depressed for a while. And then there's this, an improvised stage with Sohyang singing Cho Yong-pil's 바람의 노래 (Song of the Wind). People are calling it legendary and I'm crying, I'm not okay.

Six keys up as a teenager and still singing after all that.

Going viral as a teen and then getting hate on a show is a lot to carry at that age. Glad she kept singing

5moonchild_OP2026.10.07

that's exactly it. the Sohyang stage feels like a reward for surviving all of it

5snowyowl_2026.10.07

Same question. Even auto-subs would do

5Aurelien2026.10.08

Fair on the breath control. But 'legendary' does a lot of work in a thread like this, and I'd like to see the uncut stage before I cry with everyone else

6Lukas932026.10.07

Improvised as in really unplanned, or 'improvised' for TV? Either way I'm watching

6Jiyul2026.10.07

Monday Kiz six keys up is insane. That song is already high. Every 2nd gen ballad person just felt that

the duet with Sohyang... I'm crying with you

↳
7Haneul2026.10.07

crying at my desk too 🥹😭 Sohyang really said 'come here'

5Tenzin2026.10.07

일소라 is short for 일반인들의 소름돋는 라이브, right? 'Goosebump lives of ordinary people'. Great channel name

↳
6hanbyeol2026.10.07

Yes, that's it. People here still pass around old clips from it

5Kofi.A2026.10.07

Even if it was set up, you can't fake keeping up with Sohyang

5retro_ballad2026.10.07

Cho Yong-pil, Monday Kiz and Sohyang in one post. This was made for me specifically

5Sanne2026.10.07

is Our Ballad subbed anywhere?

↳
5snowyowl_2026.10.07

Same question. Even auto-subs would do

↳
5Putri2026.10.08

The Sohyang clip is the YouTube link in the post, so auto-captions might get you partway on that one. The full show, no idea

5Chiara2026.10.07

So happy she's okay and still singing. Rooting for her

↳
7Soomin2026.10.07

Same. Hate comments at that age stick, and she still showed up on stage. Rooting for her too

6Hajun2026.10.07

Viral cover kids usually vanish. Nice to see one come back stronger

6sarkasmus2026.10.07

Hate comments on a talent show at 17 and then Sohyang just shows up. The universe has a strange refund policy

6Yoonseo2026.10.07

today's word: 원키 (won-ki), the original key. Lowering it at noraebang is allowed, but the whole room judges you

↳
7Nari2026.10.07

Every noraebang in Busan has someone who treats 원키 as a personal challenge and the room pays for it. Six keys UP on purpose is another level

4Nurul2026.10.07

m crying, but why do audition shows always use the saddest moment of someone's life as the thumbnail

↳
6kkt.882026.10.07

Because the saddest clip is the thumbnail and the thumbnail pays the bills. Korean audition shows run on a cry quota

↳
7Haeun2026.10.07

Sad thumbnails win the click and it's depressing how reliable that is

↳
6sarkasmus2026.10.08

The thumbnail is basically a trailer for the worst day of her life. Then we wonder why contestants get hate

↳
5dami_dami2026.10.08

Even when the clip works on its own they lead with the tears. At some point just trust the voice.

5Bea2026.10.07

Six keys up on Monday Kiz is a choice. My voice would file a complaint at two

↳
5nunchi_zero2026.10.07

I went one key up at karaoke once and the whole room went quiet in a way I still think about

↳
7Haneul2026.10.07

my voice would file a complaint AND resign 😭 two keys up and I'm a kettle

↳
5Oksana2026.10.08

Your voice filing a complaint at two keys is the most honest review a cover has ever gotten

6Seoa2026.10.07

I don't know if Japan has an exact equivalent of that channel, but I'd watch it. Ordinary people with huge voices are the best content

6Hajun2026.10.07

Six keys up is the easy part. Reading the comments afterwards is the actual high note

↳
6Seoa2026.10.07

Painfully true. Hope her next comment section is just applause

6Dohyun2026.10.07

A ballad with no backing to hide behind is the hardest stage there is. All breath control, so I get the legendary talk

↳
5Aurelien2026.10.08

Fair on the breath control. But 'legendary' does a lot of work in a thread like this, and I'd like to see the uncut stage before I cry with everyone else

7Haeun2026.10.07

Old covers usually get a second wave when the singer shows up again. Curious how far that 6 million moves after the Sohyang stage

↳
5Jiseon2026.10.08

I hope the numbers go up for her and not for the sad thumbnail. She deserves a second wave

6Yoonseo2026.10.07

small note: 바람 means wind but also a wish or hope. same word, so the song title is quietly doing double duty

7Dahye2026.10.07

Putting this on at 11pm with a drink and calling it self-care. Zero regrets, slightly puffy eyes tomorrow

↳
5nunchi_zero2026.10.08

11pm, a drink, a sad ballad. My homework schedule allows maybe half of that. Sohyang gets 'legendary', I get puffy eyes before first period.

↳
7Soomin2026.10.08

Add something warm to eat and it's a full evening. Sad ballad and noodles is basically tradition

7Minjae2026.10.07

Now I want to hear the original key right after, just to hear how far she pushed it

5nunchi_zero2026.10.08

Six keys up and I still can't sing in my own shower without the dog leaving the room

5dadjoke_dk2026.10.08

Six keys up and no nosebleed. That's what I call altitude training

5Jules2026.10.08

Talent show teen, viral clip, then years later a duet with a legend. That's not a comeback, that's a character arc

6Mateo2026.10.08

Random fact: in Korea 'ballad' mostly means a slow emotional love song, so those singers have their own lane and their own fanbase

4punsauna2026.10.08

Six keys up is what I call going above and beyond. My vocal cords just booked a flight home

6hazel_n_honey2026.10.08

Taking hate at 17 and showing up at 22 on a bigger stage is a better glow-up arc than any skincare routine

7Soomin2026.10.08

Sad ballad plus snacks is a legit genre. I'm making tteokbokki and pressing play

5Kofi.A2026.10.08

watched the Sohyang part and clapped alone in my room. neighbours probably heard

5Camila2026.10.08

She raised the key and now she's raising the bar. Sorry

5Fernanda_m2026.10.08

Hate comments at 17 are brutal. Glad she has a stage now and not just a comment section

5tteok_and_roll2026.10.08

Six keys up and 6 million views. My personal range is 'hi, can I get the bill'.

↳
5nunchi_zero2026.10.08

Mine is 'sorry, is this seat taken'. Not even one key up.

4Kyungmin2026.10.08

Does she still post covers or did she go quiet after the show?

↳
5Gyuwon2026.10.08

Can't help, I found out she exists about an hour ago. The algorithm didn't send me the memo.

4Taras2026.10.08

Six keys up at 17, a duet with Sohyang at 22. She keeps going up and I'm not even talking about the key.

5jaywalker2026.10.08

Six million views at 17 is a weird thing to carry around. Glad the follow-up is a stage and not a reunion special.
