🔥ONF played a small city festival in Yangsan and the school uniforms in the crowd lost it

6IoanaAm2026.10.07 12:54👁 4827💬 54♥ 73

ONF did the Yangsan Sapryang Cultural Festival on October 2, a local festival in Yangsan near Busan. One fan swore it felt more packed than Pentaport or GMF, and there were lots of girls in school uniforms who came to hang out. When ONF came up, the announcer said something like "this time I think the teenagers are really going to like this," and then the girls actually ran to the front.

These are Hyojin fancams from that day, Bad Dream and Open The Door. A fan who went said they always knew ONF were good on stage, but seeing it like that, they really are. Another fan tweeted that Yangsan had the best taste for booking ONF as the only idol act, and that Busan should invite them soon too. I'm IVE first, but a group with this many years on stage walking into a small city festival and converting a crowd of high schoolers is my favorite kind of story.

ONF deserve every new fan they get. Their stages are always so clean

6kkt.882026.10.07

Context: Korean city festivals usually book one or two famous acts and the rest is local. Getting a group with that much stage experience is a win for the town

5mintchoco_hater2026.10.07

Small town festival, one idol act, bored teenagers. Of course it looks packed, it's the only show in town

6Mateo2026.10.07

One afternoon, sure. But most of those kids will remember whose set was their first festival

5tiny.tigress2026.10.07

Pentaport has been put on notice by a fancam. Nobody check the headcount

4Doha2026.10.07

Small festival crowds are the real test. Nobody came for you and you still win them over

↳
5Tenzin2026.10.07

Also easier to remember a group when the first time you saw them was live and close

7Nari2026.10.07

Yangsan is close to where I live and I missed this. Checking local festival lineups from now on

↳

Local festival lineups are 70% gamble. You get ONF one year and a balloon artist the next

5jaywalker2026.10.07

"More people than Pentaport" is a fan saying it, not a headcount. The clips do look packed though

↳
6IoanaOP2026.10.07

fair, I'm only going off what the fans posted. the clips sell it either way

↳
7Haeun2026.10.07

Pentaport has several stages over multiple days, so 'more packed' from a fancam angle usually means density at the front. Still a fun clip

4Niamh2026.10.07

ONF deserve every new fan they get. Their stages are always so clean

↳
6Minh2026.10.07

Clean stages are the slow burn kind, new fans always show up asking where this group has been hiding

5Andrei2026.10.07

*screams* the Open The Door fancam, that facial expression

↳
5Jiseon2026.10.07

same, I rewatched the ending of the Open The Door one three times. He knew exactly what he was doing

6Omar2026.10.07

School uniforms sprinting to the front. ONF just recruited an entire homeroom

↳
4Hyunseo2026.10.07

lol true, the whole class converted

↳
Folded — lots of readers reacted 🤔 Hmm to this one. Tap to read

Now I need to know who the class president is. Probably whoever screamed first

7Haeun2026.10.07

Which is why the one-headliner format works for idols. One slot, whole crowd, no competing stages

↳
4Hyunseo2026.10.07

lol true, the town got a bargain

5curiosa_br2026.10.07

which song did they open with?

↳
6IoanaOP2026.10.07

not sure, the clips I saw were Bad Dream and Open The Door. if anyone was there pls tell us

↳
5Camila2026.10.07

if nobody knows the opener we're going with 'a banger' as the official answer

Not saying ONF aren't good, they clearly are. But 'converted a crowd of high schoolers' after one afternoon is generous. See if they come back next year

↳

4Hyunseo2026.10.07

Yangsan taste confirmed 👏

6Minh2026.10.07

a crowd that didn't come for them and they flip it anyway. this is like Galatasaray winning the treble

5Jiseon2026.10.07

I've done Seoul a few times and never left it for something like this. Now I want to plan a trip around a small festival

↳
6meh_espresso2026.10.07

Planning a trip around a small festival is how you end up in a field at 9pm eating fish cake and calling it culture. Do it

5Camila2026.10.07

Yangsan said school's out, ONF's in. Teachers in the back pretending they don't know the chorus

↳
5Fernanda_m2026.10.07

The teachers pretending are the best part. Day two they're humming it in the staff room

↳
5nunchi_zero2026.10.08

Teachers 'not knowing the chorus' is every school talent show. They know every word, they just hate getting caught.

5mintchoco_hater2026.10.07

Small town festival, one idol act, bored teenagers. Of course it looks packed, it's the only show in town

↳
5tiny.tigress2026.10.07

Only show in town still has to be good. Plenty of festivals prove otherwise

↳
6devils_avocado2026.10.08

Only show in town gets you a crowd. Getting the crowd to run to the front is a different job

Meanwhile I'm picturing the festival food stalls and a field of school uniforms. Fried everything, ONF, homeroom. I'd have gone for the odeng alone

↳
7Soomin2026.10.07

Festival food stalls decide whether I'd go at all. If the oden is hot, ONF is a bonus

↳
6Jaehee2026.10.08

Odeng stall plus a field of uniforms is a better festival than half the ones I've paid for

5Andrei2026.10.07

*screams* Hyojin looking down the lens like he's collecting rent

7Junseo2026.10.07

my favorite part is the announcer saying the teenagers will like this and being right. rare for an mc

↳
3Fah2026.10.07

congrats to the announcer for being right!!

4Thandi2026.10.07

congrats ONF!! and congrats Yangsan on the best lineup it'll ever get

5tiny.tigress2026.10.07

Pentaport has been put on notice by a fancam. Nobody check the headcount

↳
7Siwoo2026.10.07

Pentaport's lawyers are drafting a statement as we speak *grabs popcorn*

4Hiro_K2026.10.07

Japanese local festivals work the same way. One guest act and the whole prefecture shows up in uniform. That's where the first fans come from

6Yoonseo2026.10.07

today's word: 교복 (gyobok), school uniform. You'll see a whole field of them at any Korean festival, apparently including this one

5jaywalker2026.10.08

Teenagers sprinting to the front is the most reliable crowd metric there is. Beats any headcount

7Sebin2026.10.08

A local stage where kids actually ran to the front beats a big venue where half the crowd is holding phones. Both have a place, but this one sounds fun

6Priya.s2026.10.08

Running Man or Knowing Bros should send someone to these small festivals. I'd watch that episode on loop

7Haneul2026.10.08

kids sprinting to the front 🥹 nobody's ever sprinted toward me except to leave ✨

6Seoa2026.10.08

Do small city festivals in Korea post their lineups ahead of time? I'd like to catch one when I visit but have no idea where to look

↳
6ppalli_ppalli2026.10.08

Not sure, but 축제 (chukje) = festival, so I'd search the city name + 축제 + 라인업 (lineup) on Naver or Instagram. City accounts probably post there.
