The 'only Koreans can do this' utensil skill

Korean here. It's not a skill, it's survival. Small table, six side dishes, nowhere to put anything down

We barely use spoons with rice in Japan, so this looks like a circus act to me

vocab: 숟가락 (sutgarak) spoon, 젓가락 (jeotgarak) chopsticks, and the pair together is 수저 (sujeo). One word for the combo, so the skill was inevitable

Tried this once and dropped both into the soup. The soup won

I tried it at dinner and now my wife calls me the utensil juggler. Not sure it's a compliment

'Only Koreans' is a stretch. Plenty of us hold everything at once out of pure laziness

We do chopsticks and spoon together for pho in Vietnam too, but in different hands
