AGF, Korea's big anime and game festival, made its teaser with AI and fans are not having it
AGF 2026 (Dec 4 to 6 at KINTEX in Ilsan) posted a teaser on its official X on Oct 6, and a tiny note at the bottom said it was made with generative AI.

Fan communities went cold on it fast. The complaint is basically: an event with "animation" in its name, whose whole crowd pays to see things made by illustrators and animators, handed its first promo to AI. With real ticket prices. Inven Global also dug up last year's press conference, where the committee called AI an unavoidable trend but said the emotion in stories and characters belongs to humans and AGF would stay a "human-centered" festival. Oops. And it's not a tiny con either. AGF passed 100,000 visitors for the first time last year. I've spent half my life queuing for stuff people drew by hand, so I'm with the fans. But genuinely curious: is AI fine for a throwaway promo clip, or is this the one kind of event that should never touch it?
